Marketing Director and Co-owner - Oppo ice cream

After a brief stint as a keyboard player in several bands (playing at Glastonbury and 10 Downing Street) Harry decided he was more suited to a career in business.

Working as a marketing manager for Racelogic, a motorsports electronics company, Harry took 2 months off to attempt a record-breaking expedition for charity with his brother Charlie. They travelled 1,000km along the North East coast of Brazil by kite buggy with no vehicle support. Running out of food, they lost 8kg in 2 weeks, which led them to find superfoods to eat. These wild fruits tasted fantastic while being incredibly healthy, and fuelled them to complete the expedition.

Returning home, his brother Charlie decided to leave his job to make the most indulgent food healthy, starting with ice cream. After 25 months of research and four start up grants, Oppo was born.

Meanwhile, Harry had been headhunted to work as Head of Marketing for a VC-backed online venture with Google. In 2014 he had a kite surfing accident which landed him on a jetty and in hospital. This was Charlie’s chance to convince him to join. So Harry decided to leave his role and join Oppo in time for their first store listing - with Waitrose.

Oppo ice cream has since become the world’s fastest food or drink company to reach target through crowdfunding and Seedrs’ most overfunded campaign to date (2015), won the Guardian’s ‘Start up of the Year’, Innovation of the Year, and is now stocked in 1,300 stores across the UK including Waitrose, Wholefoods, Ocado, Budgens, Holland & Barrett and Co-Op. We have just completed our second raise through Seedrs, reaching target even before going live to the public.
